about apoc

I grew up in Northern California near San Francisco. I was in high school during the Summer of Love, 1967. The Jefferson Airplane played at my high school that year.
Those years in and near San Francisco defined my life as I immersed myself in the psychedelic scene and I lived for rock & roll and free love. Later I got involved in the anti-war movement as I saw some of my friends get drafted and sent to Vietnam.
I almost got drafted but I was saved by a lucky lottery number.
One guy I knew was killed in Nam.
Eventually the bright flame that was the Summer of Love flickered out and most of the good parts were co-opted by mainstream society. And yes I saw some bad scenes like the Rolling Stones concert at Altamount.
Eventually I learned that Love is not free; if you think it is then you pay a price later on down the road. But overall that era changed our society for the better.
After college I lived in San Francisco during the seventies and LA for awhile in the eighties. Eventually I made my way to beautiful New Hampshire where I’ve lived since the early nineties.
Now I’m living the quiet life in New Hampshire, enjoying time with my sons Greg, Ryan, Danny and Kyle, my friends, books, movies and the great outdoors. I love being outdoors during all four seasons especially the beautiful Fall season in New Hampshire. I love Winter too but unfortunately my main outdoor activity seems to be shoveling snow.
Nice lyrical poems you have here…
I write poems too, only occasionally though…
I also love the outdoors… Sad to say, I have yet to experience fall… Here in my place, it’s just spring and summer…
I have become a fan of your poems, and I am linking you to my site.
